Why can't I export the Activities column?

The Activities column in the list views gives you a full history of Activities logged for the associated company, deal, or person, as well as any comments made on those Activities. The visual presentation doesn't translate well to spreadsheet files, so the data is not exported from those list views. 

Instead, export activities from the Activity Report.
